Privacy
118 Boxes collects nothing. Not a reduced amount. Nothing.
Why that claim is safe to make
The app contains no networking code. There is no HTTP client, no analytics SDK, no advertising library and no third-party framework of any kind. There is therefore no mechanism by which information could leave your device, even by accident.
On the Mac the operating system enforces it too. The app runs in Apple's sandbox with no permission to use the network, so macOS would refuse a connection even if one were attempted.

What is stored on your device
Two things, neither of which is ever transmitted:
Settings
Whether sound, spoken names and picture hints are on, and which voice reads the names.
Both are cleared by Reset progress in Settings, and both are gone entirely if you delete the app.
Children
118 Boxes is built for children. It collects no personal information from anyone of any age, so there is nothing to request, correct or delete. There are no accounts, no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no way to contact anyone through the app.
Settings contains links to this site and to the source repository. They open in your browser, and are the only way out of the app. This website, unlike the app, uses PostHog analytics to see which pages get read. That happens in the browser, never inside 118 Boxes.
Apple's own analytics
If you have Share iPhone & Watch Analytics switched on in iOS Settings, or Share Mac Analytics on a Mac, Apple may pass me aggregated, anonymous figures such as how many devices opened the app and whether it crashed. That is a feature of the operating system rather than something built into 118 Boxes. It identifies nobody, and you can turn it off under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements in Settings on iPhone and iPad, or System Settings on a Mac.
Changes
If a future version ever collects anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and will describe what changed rather than quietly replacing this text.
